We are pleased to announce the release of Motion Studio PC Client v1.0.1.
This update expands Motion Studio’s editing capabilities, improves the Session workflow, introduces new device range controls, and further enhances integration with games and other external applications.
Motion & Session Import / Export
Motion and Session projects can now be imported and exported as project packages.
This makes it easier to back up your work, move projects between computers, and share Motion or Session content with others.
Valve & Lube Support in Motion Editing
Motion Studio previously supported editing across the six primary motion axes.
With v1.0.1, Motion editing has been expanded to include Valve and Lube controls, allowing these functions to be edited together with multi-axis movement within the same Motion.
This provides greater flexibility when creating more complete and coordinated motion experiences.
Per-Axis Motion Range Settings
A new device setting has been added for defining the movement range of individual axes.
Users can now limit the available range for each axis according to their setup or preferred motion characteristics, providing greater control over device movement.
Improved Author Browsing in Motion Hub
Motion Hub now makes it easier to discover additional work from the same creator.
By clicking the author name on any published project, users can quickly view all projects published by that author in Motion Hub.
Session Editing Improvements
Several parts of the Session editor have been refined to provide a smoother and more intuitive editing experience.
The update includes improvements to:
- Time display formatting
- Timeline appearance and layout
- Fullscreen video playback
- Motion insertion during Session editing
- Motion replacement workflows
- General Session editing interactions
These changes are designed to make Session creation and adjustment faster and more convenient.
Enhanced Motion Interface for Games and External Applications
Motion Studio v1.0.1 also introduces important improvements to the Motion interface used by games and other external applications.
When calling a Motion, external applications can now specify additional parameters for:
- Motion playback speed
- Per-axis movement range
This allows a single Motion to be reused across different scenarios without creating multiple versions of the same action.
For example, if several game scenes use the same basic Motion but require different speeds or movement amplitudes, the external application can dynamically adjust these parameters when the Motion is called.
This makes Motion integration more flexible while reducing the amount of duplicate Motion content that developers need to create and maintain.
Bug Fixes and General Improvements
The update also includes fixes for several known issues, along with general stability and usability improvements.
